First posts are always awkward. Since this blog is only
intended as a little slice of my delicious life, I’ll skip the background. I’m
in Boston! This is something new for me. That’s all you need to know. Don’t
expect any diary entries or gossip here- my life is, and probably always will
be, focused on food. I’ll tell you about Russian grocery stores and steamed
pork buns and farmer’s markets (and eventually I’ll have graduate-level classes
about food to write about), because that’s what I find exciting and worth
talking about. This will be a scrapbook for my favorite food discoveries, be it
at home in my closet of a kitchen, out in the city, or in Boston University’s
Gastronomy classrooms. May you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
